Vauxhall Vivaro and Vivaro Electric get sporty makeover with new trim

Vauxhall has added a sporty GS trim to its Vivaro and Vivaro Electric midsize vans.

The Vivaro GS and Vivaro Electric GS are open for orders now

Open for orders now, the Vivaro GS and Vivaro Electric GS are priced from £41,000 and £55,000 (excl. VAT) and add in a number of exterior and interior styling upgrades to make them stand out on the road.

A new lip spoiler debuts on the front-end, joined by side skirts with integrated front mud guards and exclusive Y-spoke 18-inch black alloy wheels and high-load capacity tyres.

The upgrades are carried around to the rear, which gains a two-piece spoiler that can improve stability when the vehicle is unladen. It’s complemented by a completely new rear bumper, integrated with the unique rear spoiler and side skirts.

The interior also gets a more dynamic looks, including hand-crafted eco-leather seats – said to be more resistant to wear and chemicals – with GS logos now standard across both models. The seats are finished in bold red stitching and perforated material for ventilation.

The new GS trim is offered on panel van and doublecab versions of the Vivaro, powered by a new version of its 2.0-litre Turbo D diesel engine. Unique to the GS, this now produces 180hp – up by 35hp – and is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, emitting 145g/km of CO2 and able to achieve up to 51.3mpg.

The GS trim is also available on the Vivaro Electric exclusively in panel van configuration. Currently the UK’s best-selling electric light commercial vehicle, the Vivaro Electric GS features a 75kWh battery that gives it a WLTP combined range of up to 189 miles. It supports up to 100kW rapid charging, with an 80% charge taking just 45 minutes, as well as delivering a maximum load volume of 5.8m3 and a payload of 1,000kg.

Adam Wood, marketing director, Vauxhall, said: “The GS offers something very unique to LCV buyers. With unique looks and interior updates, it not only stands out on the road, but also maintains the practicality and versatility the Vivaro is known for. Vauxhall is known as one of few manufacturers able to offer British businesses a fully electric van across our entire line-up, and we’re continuing that with the GS – available on both Vivaro and Vivaro Electric models.”
