Complementing the Citroën ë-SpaceTourer and Peugeot e-Traveller, the new Vivaro-e Life offers multi-person carrying with a 143-mile electric range.
The new electric van is capable of carrying up to nine passengers and is available in two lengths; medium or long.
The electric motor produces 136hp with 260Nm torque, and is powerful enough to tow trailers up to 1,000kg. The van can travel 143-miles thanks to its 50kWh battery. This can be charged at up to 100kW DC that takes 30 minutes from zero to 80% using the CCS port. It can also be charged using a 7.4kW charger, or an 11kW charger as an option.
Five, six, seven or eight leather-seat configurations are available. The folding back of the front passenger seat allows the transportation of objects up to 3.50 m in length.
“Lounge” trim is standard for the Elite with massage function and electric heating for the front seats, four movable leather chairs behind, each with a 48cm wide seat cushion. VIP passengers can thus also sit facing each other and enjoy the legroom.
Like its siblings, the van’s height is less than 1.9m, which is important for underground car park access, for example.
Vauxhall Connect, the myVauxhall app and Free2Move Services each offer vehicle functions via apps. The latter enables access to more than 140,000 charging points across Europe thanks to the Charge My Car function, and also handles payment from within the app rather than needing to separately sign up to various different networks. The app can also offer a preselection of chargers based on distance, charging speed and the current charging price of the possible public charging options.
Drivers benefit from a raft of features, including a camera and radar to monitor the area in front of the vehicle, which recognises pedestrians, with AEB. Semi-adaptive cruise control joins Lane-keep assist and drowsiness alert to assist drivers. High-beam assist and a colour head-up display round out the standard features.
Creature comforts include electric sliding doors, movable leather seats on rails and a panoramic roof. The boot capacity is around 4,500 litres. Aiding the vehicle’s manoeuvrability are parking sensors in the front and rear, while a rear view 180º camera view is shown on the 7-inch touchscreen. All Vivaro-e Life come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
