Venson invests in Van Excellence training

The course is based upon the best practice guidelines for the operation of vans and light commercial vehicles contained in the FTA’s Van Excellence Code.

In the first of several training sessions planned for 2013, nine members of staff from Client Management, Maintenance & Repair, Equip for Service and Business Development teams took the training onsite at Venson. The course covered a range of safety and operating guidance, including vehicle maintenance, driver licensing, loading, speed limits and towing equipment. Staff took part in a workshop followed by an examination and received an FTA Certificate of Excellence that is valid for three years.

‘Venson staff achieved 100% pass rate on the FTA course, which is a great result and demonstrates their commitment and expertise,’ said Samantha Roff, managing director for Venson Automotive Solutions. ‘Investing in training supports our position as an expert in managing LCV fleets, and later this year we’ll be running further training courses to ensure we remain truly focused on delivering customer service excellence.

Mark Cartwright, FTA's head of vans and LCVs, commented: ‘Any organisation operating vehicles as part of its business activity has to consider the safety of drivers and the public. Our courses are designed to empower van operators with the knowledge they need to operate best practice. The Venson team are a good example of quality professionals focused on raising standards and operating safely, legally and efficiently.’
