The manufacturer also increased its market share to a record high of 13.4 % (12.6% in 2012), strengthening its number two position in the light commercial vehicles sector.
Transporter registrations were up 16.4% and Caddy remained as popular as ever, with an increase in registrations by 22.5% over 2012.
Crafter was up 10.8%, while deliveries of the Amarok increased by 47.3% when compared with 2012 figures.
In addition, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles also registered 3,590 passenger carriers, taking total UK registrations to 40,857 – up 17.% on 2012 (34,863) and pushing the brand through the 40,000 barrier for the first time in its history.
