The upgraded site is also now fully responsive, meaning it has been optimised for use via a smartphone or potable device.
The improved website – www.volkswagen-vans.co.uk/used-vehicles – allows customers to search from a stock of around 2,000 used commercial vehicles across the network.
They can then take advantage of the new ‘Reserve On-line’ feature, which allows customers to reserve vehicles by paying a deposit securely online via PayPal. The vehicle will then be held for them until they can arrange the purchase.
A new ‘Make an Offer’ feature has also been introduced. In this case the selling Van Centre is notified that someone is interested in purchasing a particular van, allowing contact to be made and negotiations to start. A Watch List function is also enabled, showing the customer how many other people are also interested in the vehicle. The website now also contains a glossary to clarify specific product details.
Commenting on the relaunch, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles national used vehicle manager, Barry Peat, said: “At Volkswagen we work hard to deliver our ‘Working With You’ promise to our customers. The new website will simplify and speed up the process of purchasing a vehicle, generate an instant dialogue with the Van Centre and provide the customer with more information about the product’s features. The fully responsive website is now also more convenient for our customers who can now easily browse and purchase Used Volkswagen Vans whilst on the move.”
