Under the agreement, Airmax Remote will provide patented OBD connected technology for the pharmacy chain’s commercial delivery fleet comprising over 450 LCV vehicles, which are leased from Lex Autolease.
The live platform will allow the company to track a range of vehicle specific information, including Remote Vehicle Diagnostics, Driver Behaviour and ability to monitor efficiency and utilisation, and allow early interventions with repair and maintenance to ensure minimal disruption to medication deliveries.
Brian James, fleet and home delivery manager at Well Pharmacy, said: “We make over four million prescription deliveries each year to some of the most vulnerable members of our communities. When it comes to delivering medication to a patient, failure is not an option. So making the most effective utilisation of our fleet is essential.
“We have selected Airmax Remote as our partner for telematics, and the services that they provide will allow us to manage our fleet effectively, and influence driver behaviour to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.”
Additional features, such as remote vehicle diagnostics, will be delivered and support the fleets’ maintenance contracts by monitoring vehicle specific fault codes such as AdBlue levels and usage plus capture accurate mileage from its vehicles.
The aim is to consolidate all this information and provide it directly to the leasing company to manage its pooled mileage scheme and reduce its service and maintenance costs.
Brian James added: “We've been impressed by the proactive approach shown by Airmax in finding the right solution for our business, and the positive approach shown to retrofitting over 450 vehicles at separate locations across the UK in tight timescales.”
