The parcel delivery giant was assessed against the Van Excellence Code of unique industry-developed standards, which breaks down into four main areas: vehicles, drivers, safe working practices and record keeping.

The accreditation demonstrates that the organisation is compliant with current legislation and best practice and is working to reduce corporate and operational risk.

Companied with Van Excellence Operator accreditation also benefit from cost savings through adopting best practice and improved operational efficiency with increased driver competence.

Nick Wells, executive chairman at Whistl, said: “Our transport team is the backbone of our logistics operations across the UK ensuring items are moved around in the safest and most efficient way.  I am delighted their professionalism has been recognised by their acceptance into the Logistics UK Van Excellence Operator scheme.”

Logistics UK’s Van Excellence scheme is designed to recognise excellence and improve operational standards

Developed by some of the best van operators in the UK and managed by Logistics UK, it’s centred around the Van Excellence Standards outlining ‘what good looks like’ in van operations.

By entering the scheme, operators can ensure their standards of operation meet the requirements of the audit standards, enabling them to be recognised as van operators that adhere to a best practice framework that benefits customers, clients, staff and the wider supply chain.
