Yodel partners with private hire firm to meet extra demand

Parcel delivery firm Yodel is drawing on Arrow Cars’ hire car operations to enable it to meet spikes in demand for online shopping during the pandemic.

Yodel has reported a 25% spike in trade as shoppers switch to online retail sales and the new partnership with Arrow Cars will five Arrow Cars drivers carry up to 120 parcels each daily for Yodel across the West Midlands. The three-month trial also enables it to make use of up to 1,000 Arrow Cars drivers if needed.

Daniel Graham, managing director at Arrow Cars, commented: “As taxi usage dropped off completely at the end of March, we researched the best national couriers that we could offer our services to and got in touch with Yodel. Our expertise lies in local knowledge, our multi-site operations and our large capacity so we are well positioned to support with seamless deliveries.”
