Van Guard Accessories has strengthened its focus on security with the promotion of John Grant to a national sales role.

Grant moves from his former role as sales account manager for the Northern region to become divisional security sales manager.
The promotion aligns with the company’s continued work to strengthen its position in the commercial van security market and invest in the next generation of van security products.
Grant joined Van Guard Accessories in February 2026, bringing considerable experience and industry knowledge to the business. His arrival followed the acquisition by the Bott Group in 2025, as Van Guard continues its transition towards the Bott brand.
Since joining, Grant has played a key role in developing the company’s presence across the northern region, building strong relationships with customers and establishing new partnerships within the automotive locksmith and van security sectors.
The promotion to divisional security sales manager will see Grant take on a national remit, with responsibility for supporting the growth of Van Guard’s security portfolio and working closely with customers across the UK.
Grant commented: “There is a lot happening within the business at the moment, particularly around security, so I’m excited to take on this new role, build on the relationships I’ve developed so far and look forward to meeting many more new customers.
“We’ve got some very exciting products in the pipeline and I’m looking forward to working closely with all current and new customers as we bring these new products to market very soon.”
The van security sector has experienced a period of significant change in recent months, creating challenges for suppliers and customers alike. Against this backdrop, Van Guard has continued to strengthen its customer base, with Grant playing a central role in developing a number of new accounts and relationships.
The business also reported increased demand for some of its security products during this period. Having now returned to full stock capacity, Van Guard said it’s extremely well positioned to support its growing customer base and capitalise on further opportunities across the market.
The promotion reflects Van Guard’s wider commitment to investing in security, both through its people and through continued product development. With several new security products and innovations planned for launch over the coming months, the company is entering an exciting new phase for its security portfolio.
The move also forms part of Van Guard’s broader evolution following its acquisition by Bott. While the Van Guard brand continues to serve its established customer base, the business is progressively transitioning towards the Bott brand, bringing together the expertise, resources and product development capabilities of the wider group.
With a growing security portfolio, increased investment in product innovation and a strengthened national sales structure, Van Guard Accessories is equipped for a period of growth within the automotive security market.
Nick Smith, Bott UK CEO, said: “We have ambitious plans for security product development, with some very exciting launches ahead. John will be central to bringing these products to market and making sure we continue to deliver the service and support our customers expect from us.”
