Avis Budget has acquired rental specialist ACL Hire for an undisclosed amount it looks to grow its commercial vehicle offering.
Based in West Lothian, family-owned ACL Hire has operations throughout Scotland and the UK, and offers rental vehicles across the van spectrum including tippers and crew cab tippers.
The acquisition – which includes the sales and service divisions too – will see all staff, including ACL’s founders James and William Harris, remain on board, with the team able to offer an enhanced business rental proposition to Avis Budget customers in Scotland and throughout the UK.
Nina Bell, managing director, Avis Budget UK, said: “We feel very strongly that by combining the strengths of the two companies, we will be able to offer customers of both a more comprehensive commercial vehicle rental offering. This is a strong addition to Avis Budget UK’s rapidly growing commercial vehicle segment and will help us to better understand and serve our customers both in Scotland and across the UK.”
