Black Country Mercedes-Benz dealership expands workshop services

The facility is set to become an approved tachograph centre, while Midlands Truck & Van has also announced plans to extend its truck MoT testing service from one day to three days per week.

Located alongside the A454 at Bentley Bridge, the £4m development opened for business last spring and has now acquired more land next door, to provide much-needed additional parking space.

The Service department was initially open round-the-clock from 6am Mondays until Saturday lunchtimes – now half a dozen technicians are also working 12-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.

From 1 November the dealership becomes a fully approved tachograph centre, with four trained technicians providing installation, calibration and repair services.

And as from the new year, the truck MoT tests conducted on Mondays in the Authorised Testing Facility bay by inspectors from the Driver and Vehicle Services Agency will also be offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays as well.

“We’re committed to making our customers’ lives as easy as possible by providing them with a ‘one-stop shop’ service,” explained after sales director Mark Elden. “The response from operators to the very significant investments we’ve been making in Wolverhampton has been resoundingly positive.”

Midlands Truck & Van has also appointed Nigel Simmons to head the repair and maintenance operation at its dealership.

“I was looking for a fresh challenge and when this opportunity came along I jumped at it,” said Simmons. “Who wouldn’t want to take on a fantastic, brand new workshop like this!”
