Road safety charity Brake has extended the deadline to enter its UK Fleet Champions Awards 2026.

Entries are now open until Wednesday 20 May

Individuals and organisations now have until Wednesday 20 May to submit a free entry that outlines their work in preventing road crashes and pollution caused by work vehicles.

Applications are welcome from any organisation that supports the fleet industry with products or services that contribute to creating safer roads for everyone, as well as from fleet operators and drivers.

In addition, the charity invites people to nominate colleagues and peers who have gone above and beyond in their mission to tackle work-related road risk throughout their career, or in their organisation.

Fleet telematics provider Quartix is the headline sponsor for this year’s awards and Driving for Better Business by National Highways returns as Brake’s partner in delivery for the third year running.

For 2026, Brake has introduced some new awards into the programme and updated other award categories to reflect ongoing changes in the industry, particularly around newer technology.

This year’s categories are:

  • NEW – Emergency Services Driver Safety Award – sponsored by Zurich Resilience Solutions, for police, fire and rescue, ambulance and other emergency services organisations that are complying with the very highest driver safety standards, or teams that have implemented initiatives that enable their drivers to be safe.
  • NEW – Road Safety Hero Award – sponsored by TTC Group, for fleet managers, supervisors or drivers who have carried out a heroic act in their line of duty, for example stopping at the scene of a crash to help keep people safe or give first aid, or providing excellent support to a colleague who has been involved in a crash.
  • NEW – Net Zero Award – for organisations that are working to achieve zero deaths and serious injuries through their transport activities, while simultaneously cutting vehicle emissions.
  • Company Driver Safety Award (small, medium and large fleet categories) – sponsored by Fleetmaster Group, for private sector organisations that have implemented initiatives that effectively enable drivers to be safe.
  • Dr Will Murray Award for Analysis and Action – for organisations that have implemented strong management systems to identify and tackle the safety and environmental impact of vehicles used on its behalf.
  • Fleet Safety Technology Innovation Award – for fleet operators and suppliers that have developed a pioneering approach to fleet safety over the last couple of years, with the greatest success.
  • Fleet Safety Partnership Award – for the partnership of fleet service providers or operators with another organisation that has delivered the most outstanding results to improve fleet safety.
  • Fleet Safety Product Award – for new, non-digital products with a proven potential to make drivers, vehicles and/or roads safer.
  • Safe Vehicles Award – sponsored by Seeing Machines, for organisations that have worked hard to improve the safety and environmental impact of vehicles used on behalf of their business.
  • Road Safety in the Community Award – for fleet organisations that have made a positive impact on society and the environment, by improving wellbeing, community strength, and sustainability. These organisations will have road safety at the heart of their corporate social responsibility ethos.
  • Road Risk Manager of the Year Award – sponsored by QBE, for fleet managers who have implemented exemplary road risk management policies with proven results.
  • Fleet Team of the Year Award – for fleet teams that have delivered outstanding performance and gone above and beyond in the line of duty.
  • Kevin Storey Award for Outstanding Commitment to Road Safety – sponsored by Fleet Service GB, a lifetime achievement award for someone who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to road safety throughout their career. Individuals cannot enter this Award themselves, but can nominate another individual within their organisation, or an individual in the wider industry, using the entry form.

The awards are free to enter. All entries are judged by an independent panel of experts and the winners will be announced at a ceremony at New Dock Hall in central Leeds on Wednesday 30 September 2026.
