Nine LCVs spanning five automotive manufacturing groups have secured spots as finalists for this milestone 35th anniversary event.

Finalists span a mix of European and Asian manufacturers, highlighting a strong shift among global OEMs to defend their traditional commercial strongholds against rapidly advancing Chinese competitors.

The diverse line-up of nominees features Geely’s Farizon V7E,  alongside the Hyundai Staria Electric, Maxus Deliver 7 and the Renault Trafic E-Tech van.

Rounding out the contenders are the Stellantis Pro One Family – comprising the Citroën Berlingo, Fiat Doblò, Opel/Vauxhall Combo and Peugeot Partner – and the Volkswagen Caddy Cargo.

Judges praised the PV5 for its innovation, efficiency and all-round capability

Jarlath Sweeney, chairman, International Van of the Year & Pick-up Awards said: “The main criterion for the nomination and the election of any van as International Van of the Year is its contribution to high standards of efficiency, safety, with respect to environment and the sustainability of the transport of light goods by road in the countries involved in the IVOTY Co Ltd, International Van of the Year organisation.”

Any purpose-built, light commercial vehicle up to 3,500 kg GVW is eligible. The Kia PV5 Cargo took the title for 2026, marking a historic first victory for both the brand itself and the Korean OEM sector. Judges praised the PV5 for its innovation, efficiency and all-round capability.

The announcement and presentation of the International Van of the Year 2027 award will be made at the Night of the Stars Gala evening at the IAA Transportation exhibition on 14 September 2026.
