Ford has become the latest big name to sign up to the Great British Fleet Event on 17 April 2024, bringing further impetus for decision-makers to attend.
The pre-eminent car and van maker has been confirmed as a partner for the event – which takes place at Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes – and will use the show as a platform to showcase its latest electrification work.
A spokesperson for Ford said: “Ford are delighted to be attending the Great British Fleet Event, as part of our 2024 ‘Go Electric’ Roadshow. This interactive exhibition is designed to demystify the Ford Electrified commercial vehicle range, addressing any questions or concerns about switching to electrified cars and vans.
“Discover the science behind different electrification technologies, and how they reduce CO2 emissions and day to day running costs. Learn how to plug in and charge, plus the benefits of living with an electrified vehicle. Answer a few simple questions to discover which Ford Electrified vehicle best suits your personal or business needs.
“Experts are on hand to offer information on current and upcoming electrified vehicles, including the new all-electric Explorer.”
The new Explorer is a crucial part of Ford’s plans for an all-electric portfolio in Europe.
Ford has committed that by mid-2026, its entire passenger vehicle range in Europe will be zero emissions capable whilst driving, all-electric or plug-in hybrid, and will be completely all-electric by 2030.
Similarly, its entire commercial vehicle range will be zero emissions capable whilst driving, all-electric or plug-in hybrid, by 2024, with two-thirds of our commercial vehicle sales expected to be all-electric or plug-in hybrid by 2030.
The new Explorer is a crucial part of these plans and joins the existing Mustang Mach-E SUV. Other new arrivals will include a further electric SUV and the new electric Puma.
Ford also continues to electrify its Transit van range. The Transit Connect PHEV and E-Transit Courier will launch this year, joining the E-Transit and E-Transit Custom.
Ford is one of a number of fleet manufacturers attending this year’s Great British Fleet Event, which will also boast leading fleet service firms in the exhibition section. The event also includes an information-packed Masterclass conference agenda and the evening’s Great British Fleet Awards, where the UK’s foremost fleet managers, suppliers and vehicle makers will be recognised for their work.
