Fraikin & Masternaut team up for commercial telematics package

The package brings full service telematics, collating vital driving data that can be used to cut costs by optimising fleet management and increasing productivity. The system is available as an optional extra on all rental and contract hire vehicles for customers who want to use telematics, but do not have their own system in place.

Hugues Rougier, CEO of Paris-based Fraikin Group, said: ‘More than ever, our customers are looking to have better control over their fleet spending. As the premium player in the contract hire market for several decades, it was crucial for us to offer our customers an innovative, useful and tailored service. Working with Masternaut – a partner for more than seven years and the largest European provider of telematics solutions – was the obvious choice. Masternaut’s expertise and technological innovation allow us to bring real added value to our offering.’

Using Masternaut’s patented CANbus data acquisition technology, Fraikin offers a smart approach to telematics, enabling customers to enhance their use of collected driving data. Monitoring equipment can be fitted to any current Fraikin vehicle regardless of the age of the asset, or specified on new deliveries.

Companies will be able to track and manage their fleet in real-time, making decisions based on the data, allowing them to establish more sustainable driving policies and ensure compliance. Customers can use the telematics information to cut fuel usage, reduce vehicle downtime, increase the safety of their drivers, and minimise the fleet’s carbon footprint.

A dedicated team will help clients to use and customise the new platform to their needs. Customers will get tailored monthly reports revealing critical data and enabling them to take action to cut costs.

Steve Towe, chief commercial officer and UK managing director at Masternaut, said: ‘This partnership with Fraikin represents a real opportunity for Masternaut. Beyond the strong relationship we have had with them for seven years and our shared values, Fraikin’s leading position and the power of its network will allow us to reach other markets that Fraikin has access to. This collaboration will also enable our R&D teams to benefit from the knowledge and expertise within Fraikin for future solutions that perfectly meet the needs of the market.’
