Herd Hire adopts 1link Disposal Network for van remarketing

Commercial vehicle hire specialist The Herd Group has deployed epyx’s 1link Disposal Network platform for remarketing.

Herd Hire offers personal and business short- and long-term van hire

Established in 2011, Herd Hire initially covered the Surrey area but now numbers 10 branches nationwide, offering personal and business short- and long-term van hire, as well as providing a complete fleet management for long-term rental solutions.

Intended to offer a completely unique and rewarding hire experience, the firm’s solutions use a ‘Herd’ of animals to define the sizes of its vehicles, from a Squirrel for small vans to a Mammoth for 3.5-tonne box Lutons.

Aiding its defleet operations, Herd Hire will use 1link Disposal Network as an online sales channel to reach more dealers and traders alongside its existing retail used van supercentre in Dorking.

Nigel Schroder, managing director at The Herd Group, said: “We are seeing a rapid increase in the size of our fleet as a result of business growth, so need to enhance our remarketing activity accordingly.

“Our used van centre works very well but we want to increase the reach of our remarketing to a much wider audience and 1link Disposal Network is an excellent way of doing this.

“The stock that we offer is of the highest quality, all under three years old and in superb condition with comprehensive histories, so will be very attractive to dealers and traders.”

Vicky Gardner, head of remarketing at epyx, added: “We’re pleased to welcome The Herd Group to the platform. They are one of the fastest growing and most interesting van rental operations around.

“We are continuing to see more vendors sign up to use the platform as well as an increasing number of traders. In the next few weeks, we expect to pass the 3,000 trader mark, which is very pleasing.

“It’s very much a virtuous circle. More quality vendors such as The Herd Group mean that more quality traders are attracted to source stock from the platform. We feel as though we have a lot of momentum.”
