Hitachi Capital Transit helps keeps Trowbridge Active

Active Trowbridge, an organisation that aims to provide the region’s young people with affordable sports and activities, received the long-wheelbase, high-roof Transit, free of charge for six months. This allows them to reach out to local schools and community groups throughout the region, by helping them transport equipment for their wide range of initiatives.

The LCV has been taken from current stock and liveried in Active Trowbridge decals. This will help promote awareness of the varying activities and youth services across Trowbridge and the surrounding areas during the school holidays.

The initiative demonstrates Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicle Solutions’ ongoing commitment to utilising the Transit for local projects. Hitachi Capital are also part-funding the hire of inflatable equipment, including assault courses, play-zones, bungee runs and football arenas.

Started in 2008, Active Trowbridge employs 16 sports coaches, who help to deliver over 300 hours of sports coaching every week. Their annual Community Sports Roadshows – funded by Trowbridge Town Council – offer toddlers and children between five and 12-years-old free access to sporting and active events on weekdays between 27 July and 29 August 2015.
