LKQ Euro Car Parts Group maximises van utilisation with Microlise solution

LKQ Euro Car Parts has deployed Microlise’s full journey management and proof of delivery solution across its network of 3,000 vans.

LKQ Euro Car Parts is using Microlise’s full journey management and proof of delivery solution across its network of 3,000 vans

The business, a major distributor of parts for all makes of cars and LGVs in the UK, is using Microlise’s SmartPOD proof of delivery app to gain visibility of delivery operations and streamline its supply chain.

Drivers will use a Zebra TC77 device to provide access to delivery and consignment information, with delivery activities tracked electronically. The solution also provides additional software features to support task management, driver communication and provide access to site notes and manifest information.

The journey management element will provide insight into schedule adherence and trip status in real-time to deliver proactive customer service. It will enable the business to monitor the performance of order delivery SLA against what actually happened both in real-time or by using historical data. Guided navigation helps drivers to use the most efficient routes to reduce mileage.

Tony Shearer, branch operations director at LKQ Euro Car Parts, said the business is already seeing the improvements and benefits set out at the start of the project, across areas such as improved utilisation and enhanced customer experience.

“Our aim is to deliver the best customer service possible while maximising our planning, resourcing and communication capacity. We also hope to free up management time by removing many manual processes to focus more energy on the customer journey,” he outlined.
