Marshall Fleet Solutions to run update programme for refrigerated vans

Marshall Fleet Solutions has revised its refrigerant usage policy in line with the latest F-Gas regulations.

The MFS update programme is valid for existing customers currently running Thermo King transport refrigeration units on R404A.

Implemented on 1 January 2015, the regulations place restrictions on the use of certain HFC refrigerants in certain applications, including R404A. This is the refrigerant mostly widely used in Thermo King refrigeration units until the company moved very recently to using R452A.

According to MFS, R404A – which has a phase-out date of 2020 – is becoming harder to source and facing regular price increases. In response, the company is offering offer to replace, where necessary, all R404A refrigeration gas with the newly developed R452A refrigeration gas, for those existing customers currently running Thermo King transport refrigeration units.

MFS added that its conversion to R452A is a relatively straightforward conversion to the TK fridge unit, supported by Thermo King technologies and procedures. The conversion is offered through the F-Gas compliant nationwide MFS service network and could be carried out in conjunction with scheduled services and/or refrigerant leak and/or checks.

Further details about the impact of the new F-Gas legislation and how to proceed with the MFS R452A conversions can be viewed on the Marshall Fleet Solutions website: http://marshallfleetsolutions.co.uk/changing-gas-save-world/
