Mercedes-Benz Citan proves doubly successful for Sabre

Sabre Security & RF Systems has assigned its long-bodied Citan 109 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY to senior engineer Billy Wells, who installs and services systems throughout the South East.

The 90hp diesel engine that powers Sabre’s Citan is enhanced by the additional BlueEFFICIENCY package, with features including the ECO start/stop function, low rolling resistance tyres and optimised alternator and battery management systems. As a result, this model boasts an economy figure of up to 65.7mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 112g/km.

Sabre managing director Richard Rodgers said: ‘A lot of our work is undertaken in and around London, where the heavy traffic means we need vans which are as compact and fuel-efficient as possible. The Citan fits the bill perfectly.’

The vehicle is also said to be proving its worth alongside three other, similarly sized vans, which are by another manufacturer.

‘They’re like chalk and cheese,’ continued Mr Rodgers. ‘The Citan is a much better vehicle in every respect – Billy says it’s much more enjoyable to drive than his last van, while he’s not visiting the filling station as often either.’

The vehicle is being funded by an Agility funding package from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. This offers all the benefits of conventional hire purchase with a Guaranteed Future Value (GFV) – including low monthly repayments – but gives operators extra options at the end of the term.
