The investment is part of A-Plant’s circa £10 million investment in new transport fleets for its divisions this financial year. The new fleet includes 20 Iveco Daily 35C13 panel vans which are on a 3300mm wheelbase and are fitted with a high roof (H2), giving 3,500kgs GVW and 7,000kgs GTW.
The vehicles have been fitted with a six-speed gearbox, digital tachograph, speed limiter set to 68mph, and come complete with built-in bluetooth for hands-free mobile use. They will be used to deliver PSS Hire equipment to customers across the UK.
In addition, PSS Hire has also invested in six new Isuzu D-Max 4WD Double Cab Pickups. All the Isuzu D-Max pickups have been supplied with bespoke accessories fitted to ensure that they are best-equipped for PSS’ requirements. These include a high roof hard top, tow bar, digital tachograph, amber beacons & work lamps, road speed limiter and audible reverse warning system.
Commenting on the fleet refresh, A-Plant’s director of transport, Shaun Winstanley, said: ‘These vehicles offer greater fuel efficiency and lower emissions including many safety features such as the ESP9 which reduces trailer swing and improve its stability whilst been towed. The vehicles are also fitted with telematics which monitor the driver’s behaviour, which can assist with training and be used to improve driving skills, resulting in greater fuel efficiency and safety.’
