Robert Veit becomes Mercedes-Benz Vans UK managing director from 1 May 2021

He succeeds Steve Bridge, who left the business at the end of January 2021 to become managing director at Mercedes-Benz dealer eStar Truck and Van.

Robert Veit is currently vice president and managing director sales and marketing of Mercedes-Benz Vans USA.

He started his career in 1995 as a member of the Management Trainee Group at Mercedes-Benz AG and has held a number of international management positions focused on commercial vehicles.

This includes his role since 2016 as managing director for sales and marketing MB Vans USA, where he is credited with having implemented a sales growth strategy, including two of the biggest fleet deals ever for Mercedes-Benz Vans, as well as the development of van dedication in the dealer network.

Marcus Breitschwerdt, executive vice president Mercedes-Benz AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, said: “I am happy we could win Robert for our van business in the UK. He did an outstanding job within the US market and I am convinced that his wealth of experience and leadership skills will help to continue to drive our business ambition forward in the UK market.”

Breitschwerdt also thanked Steve Bridge for his work, saying: “Steve is one of the most influential figures of the UK commercial vehicle industry and made Mercedes-Benz Vans in the UK a huge success. Thanks a lot for a great job, Steve, and good luck for your new challenge.”
