The contract begins this month with the delivery of 57 Nissan Primastar vans, marking the first phase of a long-term collaboration designed to support the business’s ambitious growth strategy.
Scutum, an international fire, safety and security specialist that’s part of the Scutum Group, currently operates a fleet of more than 320 vehicles and has bold growth plans over the next 12 to 18 months.
The comprehensive new partnership provides Scutum with a combined fleet management and rental package to deliver a complete mobility solution that supports engineers and wider operations.
Alongside the management of its core fleet, access to Driveway Vehicle Solutions’ rental offering will give Scutum additional flexibility when replacement or additional vehicles are required, helping to keep engineers mobile and minimise operational disruption.
The agreement follows a comprehensive consultation process, during which Driveway Vehicle Solutions worked closely with Scutum to map out its exact operational requirements, successfully transitioning the business away from its previous fleet provider.
Ben Lowe, business development manager at Driveway Vehicle Solutions, said: “From the outset, we’ve worked closely with the Scutum team to understand what they need from their fleet, both now and as the business grows. That’s helped us build a strong relationship and put the right solution in place rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.”
He added: “Bringing fleet management and rental together gives their business the flexibility to respond quickly when vehicle needs change. For a business with engineers working across the country, keeping vehicles on the road and minimising downtime is hugely important, and that’s where we can add real value.”
Nick Allen, asset manager at Scutum Group, commented: “As we expand, we need a fleet partner that can grow with us and understands how important it is to keep our teams mobile. We’ve built a strong relationship with Driveway Vehicle Solutions from the outset and have been impressed by their flexible and collaborative approach. We’re looking forward to taking delivery of our new fleet of Primastar vans and developing this partnership further.”
So far this year, Driveway Vehicle Solutions has announced a number of key milestones. In April, the business acquired Bromsgrove-based contract hire and leasing specialist Agility Fleet, which added more than 1,200 vehicles to its managed fleet and strengthened its operational capabilities, as it works towards its longer-term ambition of reaching 20,000 vehicles.
