Silverstone Fleet Show 2014: BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe & Infiniti Q50 to make guest appearances

Revealed last month at Geneva, BMW’s 4 Series Gran Coupe offers ‘the sleek look of a two-door coupe with the functionality provided by four doors,’ according to BMW, with key features including more passenger space than its Coupe sibling as well as a standard-fit automatic tailgate and striking looks. At the Fleet World Fleet Show, there will also be an early drive of the 216d M Sport Coupe along with MINI’s Cooper D Hatch.

Meanwhile, the Show, which takes place on 9th April, will also see the first UK event appearance of the Infiniti Q50. The brand’s premium compact executive sector is marked out by being the first car in the world to come with drive-by-wire steering and also offers a four-cylinder 2.1-litre turbodiesel engine, courtesy of Daimler AG, to target fleet drivers with, along with a 357bhp hybrid version.

The Jaguar and Land Rover stands at the Fleet World Fleet Show will also see an impressive number of previews and early drive opportunities, including the XF 2.2d 200PS R-Sport, XFR-S and F-TYPE Coupe – along with a static F-TYPE Coupe – joined by the Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover in luxurious Autobiography trim.

And continuing on the offroad theme, there will also be an early drive of Kia’s Sportage KX4 Auto MY14, which features updated looks and specification along with refined suspension and sound insulation.

Also on the Kia stand will be the Soul Connect Plus 1.6 CRDi MY14 – Kia’s second-generation small crossover and one of an impressive number of UK premieres at the Show.

Other UK premieres include the new Peugeot 308 SW, with a static display model available at the Show just days after Peugeot has announced pricing and specification details for the UK. This will be accompanied on the carmaker’s stand by the new RCZ R, its most powerful model yet, offering 268bhp and reaching 62mph in 6.1 seconds yet proving its fuel and carbon efficiency with 44.8mpg and 145g/km.

In addition, PSA stablemate Citroen will be bringing along its 205bhp DS3 Cabrio Racing. Engineered by the team behind Citroen’s eight World Rally Championship victories, visitors will be given an exclusive chance to experience hot laps of this rare model and the DS4 on the Grand Prix circuit.

Other UK premieres at the Show include Vauxhall's new "Whisper Diesel" engined Astra, the quietest and cleanest the company has produced to date, with fuel consumption of up to 76.3mpg and carbon emissions of a tax-busting 97g/km.

And fleets will also be treated to the premiere of the new Nissan X-TRAIL. Seen at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the latest X-TRAIL goes on sale this summer, bringing sleek new looks along with best-in-class legroom, according to the brand, and innovative technologies.

For fleets looking to attend the Show, there’s still time to pre-register, saving you time, or qualifying visitors can register on the day.
