The newly developed e-XDi220 turbo diesel brings increased power together with improved economy and reduced CO2 emissions.
Maximum power is increased to 178ps and torque to 400Nm – up by 19.4% and 11% respectively.
For the Korando, CO2 emissions have been reduced to 139g/km, down from 147g/km on the previous two-wheel drive manual, while fuel economy is now up to 53.3mpg (official combined cycle) compared with 47.1mpg.
“This is a significant advance for our LCV range,” said Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK. “The power upgrade brings greater refinement, while Korando continues to deliver unrivalled levels of equipment and value, while no other brand offers the light van operator such a comprehensive warranty for complete peace of mind.”
Meanwhile the Rexton CO2 emissions have been reduced to 184g/km, while fuel economy is also improved and now up to 40.4mpg (Combined cycle).
Korando prices start from £13,995 (ex VAT) for the two-wheel drive CSE model and £15,295 (ex VAT) for the CSE 4×4. The Rexton 2.2 CSE is £19,495 ex VAT on the road.
Paul Williams added: “Priced at only £19,495 (ex VAT), the new 2.2 litre powered Rexton CSE has an almost unrivalled position in the LCV sector. Built on a ladder chassis, it is a serious off-roader yet with all the equipment and comfort you expect to find in a SsangYong and at such an amazing price point. Not only do you get a lot of vehicle for the money but also the reassurance of an industry-leading 5 year limitless mileage warranty for complete peace of mind.”
