Vauxhall has revealed its updated Vivaro and Vivaro Electric vans, which gain new design and equipment highlights along with more attractive pricing and driving range for the electric model.
Part of the revamped van line-up launched by parent group Stellantis under its new Pro One umbrella business to lead its new CV offensive, the updated medium-size vans arrive hot on the heels of the smaller Combo and Combo Electric.
As with the Combo, the new Vivaro and Vivaro Electric get the brand’s bold Vizor front-end, debuted on the Mokka, integrating with the LED lights on higher-trim models and featuring the new Griffin logo at its centre.
The duo also comes with latest advanced driver assistance systems, including a new Dynamic Surround Vision system, standard on top trim versions. Meanwhile, the cabin debuts a new cockpit and infotainment systems based on the Snapdragon Cockpit platform from Qualcomm Technologies with two 10-inch screens and wireless smartphone connectivity, standard across all models.
Like the Combo, the Vivaro Electric gains extra miles, boosting driving range to 217 miles (WLTP), up by 12 over the current model. Its 136hp electric motor delivers torque of 260Nm and a choice of three driving modes: Normal, Eco or Power.
The 75kWh battery can be charged using the standard 7.4kW onboard charger – an 11kW charger is optional – and can be recharged from 5%-80% in 45 minutes at a 100kW public charging station.
The Vivaro Electric also now comes with an “e-Power take-off unit”, initially with 400V and able to supply smaller tools or fridge units for cooled vans with power from the traction battery.
At the same time, Vauxhall has cut the price for the Vivaro Electric, which now starts from £42,055 (excl. VAT); a saving of £2,580 over the outgoing model.
The standard Vivaro is available with a choice of diesel engines, with power outputs from 120hp to 177hp and priced from £27,555 (excl. VAT)
The Vivaro is available in two trim levels, entry-level Prime and Pro. Both versions are available in two lengths (4.98m and 5.33m), as a panel van, a double cab and a platform chassis for a variety of body types. Depending on the version, the Vivaro offers up to 6.6m3 of cargo volume and 1.4 tonnes of payload.
Sales of the updated Vivaro and Vivaro Electric are due to start by the end of this year. Full specification and pricing details will be revealed closer to when orders open.
