VMS Fleet Management invests £10m in new refrigerated vans for rental fleet

VMS Fleet Management is expanding its rental fleet with the addition of more than 250 refrigerated vans.

VMS is rolling out 250 new refrigerated vans on its rental fleet over the next three months

The new vehicles – worth £10m – join the VMS Vehicle Hire fleet in advance of the summer and range from Mercedes-Benz Sprinters and Vitos to Renault Masters and Traffics, including, SWB, MWB, LWB and Luton Boxes. All will include a variety of configurations such as single and twin evaporator systems, single and dual compartments, chilled, frozen and dual temperature with standby to meet the ever increasing needs of the catering and events sectors.

The vans are due to be rolled out between January and April 2019 to various locations around the UK, coinciding with the launch of the Ultra Low Emission Zone in central London from 8 April.

Martin James, managing director of VMS Fleet Management, said: “We fully understand the impact vehicles have on the environment, which is why I believe whole heartedly in investing money into areas of the business that can help with the new ULEZ laws coming into place. I have always believed in helping our customers make smarter and better decisions when it comes to their fleet requirements that will not only save their business money, but will have less effect on the environment too.”

The business is also planning further investment this year, including opening additional sites around the UK.
