A recent LCV insights-driven day hosted by Zenith gave customers a valuable platform to explore the latest van market developments and navigate the transition to electric vehicles (eLCVs).
Running for the second consecutive year, the event brought together operators from various industries to discuss shared operational challenges, learn from industry experts and collaborate on long-term fleet electrification strategies amid a fast-changing LCV landscape.
The agenda, which covered industry hot topics, also featured a session from Catherine Bowen, head of decarbonisation & future mobility at the BVRLA, who provided updates on the Zero Emission Van Plan and ZEV mandate consultation, as well as leading workshops exploring some of the key challenges facing van operators.
Kia was also in attendance, showcasing the new PV5 in both Cargo and Passenger variants, allowing customers to get a closer look at the latest eLCV technology and consider how the vehicles could work within their own fleets.
Electrification was a key theme throughout the day, with customers sharing their experiences and lessons learned as they plan the future of their fleets. Discussions highlighted the importance of taking a long-term approach, recognising that the transition to electric requires careful planning and cannot happen overnight.
Mark Grundy, LCV consultant at Zenith, said: “There’s never been a more important time for fleets to learn from each other. Every business is starting from a different place and facing its own operational challenges, so there simply isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to the transition.
“As the UK’s most customer-focused fleet partner, our role is to bring together the right expertise, insight and experiences to help customers find the approach that works for their business. By sharing what’s working, what isn’t and the lessons learned along the way, fleets can make more informed decisions and move forward with confidence.”
Ben Holleyhead, group fleet manager at LS Fire Group, commented: “Zenith’s LCV Customer Day provided a great insight into the challenges facing fleet managers and the direction of the sector. It was a valuable opportunity to share real-world customer feedback with Zenith and help shape how they can continue to support the evolving needs of fleet operators.”
