AA Tyres expands fleet with new Crafters

The mobile tyre fitting service, launched by the AA 18 months ago, has taken delivery of 10 new Volkswagen Crafter vans to enable it to push into the West Country, following a surge in demand for mobile tyre fitting in Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas.

The new AA-liveried vans will enable the service to fit a potential 25,000 extra tyres a year for both AA and non-AA members.

Mark Shankland, co-founder of AA Tyres, said: “We’re still in the grip of the on-demand revolution, and it’s showing no sign of slowing.

“People have come to expect almost universal convenience offered by on-demand delivery from so many aspects of their daily routine, so shouldn’t it be the same with tyres?

“Our research indicates that people are still leaving it too late to get their tyres changed, simply because they can’t spare the time to drive to a depot and wait for the work to be carried out.

“With our newly expanded fleet, we’re effectively bringing the depot to our customers. This means that that tens of thousands more drivers around the country have no need to put off this vital piece of maintenance simply because they can’t spare the time.

“Our fleet of vans can drive to a location of the customer’s choosing, with payment being made only once the tyres have been fitted. There’s now even less of an excuse to put off getting your tyres changed until the last minute.”
