Premium frozen meals supplier Cook has deployed a 7.5-tonne Isuzu N75.15(E) refrigerated truck from Northgate Temperature Controlled on its nationwide delivery fleet.
The vehicle is the first light truck to be delivered by Northgate Temperature Controlled, which currently supplies around 50% of Cook’s 80-strong commercial vehicle fleet.
The Isuzu features a lightweight refrigerated body, equipped with a GAH J503 (24v) direct drive refrigeration unit, which can hold around 3,000kg of cargo and boasts more than 20m3 of loadspace.
Procured by Northgate Highways, the refrigeration unit was installed by Northgate Temperature Controlled, which will supply maintenance throughout its hire agreement. Through Northgate Mobility’s One Road/One Fleet initiative, Cook also benefits from access to non-refrigerated vehicles under the same rental agreement through a single point of contact, simplifying fleet management.
The truck will contribute to Cook’s operations nationwide and has been supplied on a three-year rental contract, with Northgate Highways providing vehicle upkeep and maintenance, while Northgate Temperature Controlled maintains the refrigerated unit.
The new arrival joins Cook’s ever-expanding fleet of varying sizes, bodybuilds, manufacturers and applications. The company has been working with Northgate Temperature Controlled for over a decade to fulfil its fleet requirements.
Adam Wickham, transport manager at Cook, said: “Running a fleet with many applications means that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all vehicle that meets our needs, which is why it’s great to continue working with Northgate Temperature Controlled for our transport solutions – and the One Road/One Fleet initiative means we can get a vehicle bespoke to our needs through one point of contact.”
Adam Naylor, director of Northgate Temperature Controlled, added: “Cook has been a fantastic customer of ours over the past 10 years, and it’s brilliant to be able to expand their fleet once more. This 7.5-tonne Isuzu represents the largest vehicle we supply to Cook and shows our capabilities in supporting their evolving operational requirements.”
