UK truckers are being urged to boost their heart health with Omega-3 during a month-long campaign throughout October at the Chippenham Pit Stop.

These essential fatty acids help drivers maintain healthy blood pressure, circulation and heart rhythm during long hours on the road delivering 90% of the UK’s goods.

Posters promoting the health drive are now on display at the Chippenham Pit Stop, located just off Junction 17 of the M4 in Wiltshire.

The posters advise drivers to eat two weekly portions of fish, including one portion of oily fish such as salmon, mackerel or anchovies. For those who do not eat fish, plant-based alternatives are suggested, such as sprinkling chia or flaxseeds onto breakfast cereal, or adding walnuts to porridge and yoghurt. Truckers are also advised to swap standard cooking oil for rapeseed oil.

It’s the latest campaign from the truck hub, which has a long-standing commitment to supporting drivers and helping them combat the health risks associated with sitting behind the wheel for long hours.

The monthly health campaigns are a key reason why the Chippenham Pit Stop has earned the Road Haulage Association accolade of going the extra mile when it comes to customer care.
